For 7 years every day and sometimes twice a day I walked past this building. We lived at the other end of the crescent and it was the only flat walk in all of Hobart
It was not of course in this condition, the paint was peeling some of the timber was rotting but I fell in love and I designed it inside to be one large room on the ground floor with the kitchen and bathroom in the tea rooms at the back.
Then there was to be a staircase in the middle on one side with glass floored galleries running along either side with a bedroom, bathroom and dressing room at either end
This is inside now (It is possible we may actually have to had the ceiling removed to which would have been a huge pity!)
This property is on the market with George Self Real Estate and I would love to buy it but it has not been done the way I dreamt so not going to happen.
BUT.....
it was the beginning of a dream and now we are thinking of moving down in size and I want something new. Here is what I am looking at
(Another real estate site)
(country living )
I think I pinched this one from marleyandlockyer.blogspot.com/
And my ideas for inside are still similar
(Don't know where I pinched this from)
I still want the galleries either side to connect the bedrooms but I have decided against glass (just in case I am wearing a skirt!!!!)
I do love the limed timber in this one but would like more light in the end room
THESE
are what I keep looking for and keep dreaming about and perhaps if I keep putting it in here the power of positive thinking will come into play!
P.S. I still have no idea how to link a picture to the blog. If anyone can help with that please email me with advice.
AND I have been incredibly chuffed with the comments. Really all terribly exciting so if you come to have a look please tell me via a comment. Thank you and
Goodnight
Thanks so much for joining my blog. I am out of town and working from a computer that I am not use to. Just keep your dreams alive and you never know!! I am going to follow you blog, too and we will learn together about all this bloggy stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for stopping by my blog for a visit!
ReplyDeleteI love your dream house ideas, and I know what you mean about all those inspiration tear sheets. I've collected them for so many years that I often have no idea where they originally came from! I usually find that most people are great as long as you try really hard to give credit to whomever the photographer or source is.
I'll be back to visit again soon! xoxo Gigi
Kim thank you for following. Isn't it amazing the kick you get knowing that someone somewhere likes what you are doing?!!
ReplyDeleteGigi, it's nice to know I am not the only one who is so totally irresponsible that we did not carefully note where each page came from (It was obvious when we did it that at some time in the future someone would ask!!!!!)
I guess I will still put them up and if the owner wants it removed I'll worry about it then
I love both your blogs and will continue to follow Julienne
LOVE those last 2 pics!!! I could see something like that i my dream home!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
