shades of green....!

Petty jealousy is really very boring!!!!
and not something I normally suffer from
...thank goodness!

BUT...

a wonderfully eccentric friend

rang tonight for a chat

and half way through the conversation said

go and check out where I have been staying!

so I did

and I could so see myself lying by the pool

enjoying a wee pre dinner drink

then settling in for the night

perhaps grabbing a good read of the shelves

and day dreaming

after lunch in the shade before another dip

or wandering through the beautiful gardens

so I suggested next time she went she had better take me!!!

                                                                                                                                                        all images from here

Alas....too late
as it will probably be sold
she replied

So
 just slightly
 tinged green am I!!!!!

Family history AND a beautiful home!!!!

My family has a history with the
Hunter Valley

do you remember Ambrose and Bridget Rotton?
their Grandson, a few times removed,
Walter Rotton arrived in Sydney,
 via Tasmania, in 1821

He had quite a history
which is a story for another time
but he was one of the early settlers
 in a town called Maitland
and he had a beautiful daughter
 named Jane (Granny Singleton)
who in 1844 married a gentleman
 named John Singleton
John's father, Benjamin, was one of the first settlers
 in the beautiful Hunter Vally
and in fact the town of Singleton still carries his name.

 SO

I was looking for somewhere to live in Singleton
after all it does have a lot of family history
and I found

 Hamilton Park here

Again, out of our price range at $799.000

it sits on 85 acres (and has horse yards Renee!)

the gardens are spacious

and the pool and it's surrounds

are big enough to cater for my entire family

You guessed it!

it's that red again

but in this instance they have carried the same
colour almost all the way through

with lots of white I don't think it is too heavy, do you?

even the bathroom

Although someone in the family obviously didn't want red!

I have that dressing table and at present I am wondering
if I will paint it white, yes...no?

I am not sure about the red carpet but heck I'm not going
to be that picky!

I really love this house it has that look of being there for
a while, I love all the white and the red and most of my
furniture would fit in

Now all I need to do is win the lottery
so we can have some money to live on

Looking for something new!

here's hoping
when we actually start looking
for our new home
that something like this
is still on the market

Scone, contact agent

at first I wondered about the posts only half painted
but as I keep looking at these I like it more and more!

Scone, contact agent

I just love the open spaces the white
and the mellowness of the timbers

Scone, contact agent

and whilst I keep hoping that this will still be available here
(not likely!)
the sad fact is that we could not afford it anyway
(sob, sob, sob!)

lovely surprises

Macarons

the eating and making off
have become my new passion.

The last lot I made were just about perfect
and if I could upload our images from our camera
 I would show you
but we do seem to be having just a wee problem with that.
Every time I do so the computer goes into fatal error and crashes!!
Anyway that was not the point of this story

The point is I went to check a page
I knew I had bookmarked on the making of Macarons....
to compare of course!

I searched and
I searched and
 one hour later I found!!

Do you have 100's of bookmarked pages?

because, really, this was ridiculous

I didn't even remember what half of them were
so slowly and painfully, I checked each one and went
 delete....
delete...
delete...
whoa stop there OK you can stay...
delete...
delete...
and so on till I came to this site here

These images make me think of summer and family
and I just wanted to throw open my door
and welcome these rooms right in

I am only half way through the bookmark file
so I will now trundle back and see what else I can find
who knows
there could be all sorts of beautiful things
 still waiting to be rediscovered!!!!!

if only.....!

Sometimes you come across
a series of photos that just take your breath away
These do it for me

I would like to think
that I could live in a house that looked like this
but then I have to be a little realistic
and realise that with our animals,
my total dislike of housewifely duties
and our lack of finances to pay for someone to do it for me
that the best way to enjoy this place
is just to bookmark the site here and visit regularly

I love the pale timber floors
 and the brick
I love the minimalist look
I love the modern furnishings
and I am so not a modern girl!!

I love the wall paneling
I love the touches of gold
I really love the bedroom
I just love all of it

Do you like the look?

Goodnight

Its all in the eye!!!

I could pretend
 this post is about candelabra....

I could pretend
this post is about floor treatments...

I could even pretend
it is just about beautiful rooms!!!

A bit fussy, a bit floral...
but couldn't you just walk in here,
have afternoon tea with the girls
and stay for days?

whilst the blokes
 are in here
 with their whisky and sports

This room is so terribly proper
 and exquisitely pretty
but I would be terrified I might spill somethin!!!

I bet
 there have been some wonderful
dinner parties here!

and I love
 the way this kitchen
changes with the seasons!
winter...

...summer!!!

and now I can go to bed happy
that I have finally seen all these photos
 in all their glory
 because today

I
got
my
new
glasses.

They make me a bit sea sick
and I am holding my head at a funny angle
and I am sure the left lens is wrong!!!!

but

Mandy tells me I will get used to it
 and

I
 CAN
SEE
  AGAIN!!!!

so now I can tell you
 this post
is all about the few photos
in my real estate files
that I could never
blow up big enough to see !!!!

 thank you Mandy and Mar

Goodnight
