One week later....

Here we go again
Last Saturday
our local Polo Club
celebrated it's centenary
and we fed 90 this time

same three sided tin shed
only now we wanted it to feel as though
you were in a marquee
by the river and among the gums!

we had planned lovely wicker seating outside
 with cream market umbrellas
only to wake up to one of the wettest days
this winter

The teams arrived and after inspecting the entrance to the field
they deemed it advisable to unload the horses
on the road and walk them in

whilst this was going on we were still busy
 dressing the shed

the wife of one of the older players
did the paintings hanging on the drop sheets
and donated them to the Polo club
they were absolutely wonderful

and we had all sorts of memorabilia scattered around

of course I forgot to take photos of the nibbles but this was
our entree (first course)  alternate serves of
terrine with beetroot jam and rocket or
Bree with red apple slices, caramelized balsamic and
Parmesan crisps

Main course was our pumpkin salad from here
medium roast beef with bordelaise sauce
or roast pork with apple chips cooked in maple syrup
and of course once again I forgot to capture this on film!

so onto dessert of rich chocolate and raspberries
with whipped cream and marscapone

or shortbread hearts filled with marscapone, cream and brandy
and just poached strawberries

whilst we cooked, prepared and served up
the polo teams played a round robin
 in the absolutely pouring rain

but our guests seemed to enjoy themselves despite the
weather and were still there after we had packed up
and gone home.

Yesterday was spent washing up and packing away
and that's the finish of our catering until
the ram sale next month
but that's only morning tea and BBQ lunch
just a breeze for us girls!!

goodnight
